We have long had a family owned machine shop making precision machined and fabricated parts for a wide range of customers. It was when I lost my dog who was crazy for tennis balls, that got me searching for something other than the disappointing bag of ashes in a cardboard box from the veterinarian. This dog was special. A member of the family. I wanted a way to honor his memory. So I started playing around with designs for his cremation urn. I explored shapes like some of the capsule shapes of our current designs, but settled on one that looked like a tennis ball.

I had requests from friends and family members to make some for them. I realized that so many traditional urns just look like, well, urns. They don’t fit with contemporary home decor. So we put them in a closet, or room where it won’t be noticed. Why on earth would you spend so much money on something only to hide it away? A memorial should be on display. Celebrate the life and memories of your loved one.
